ABOUT
My work examines Black identity, generational memory, migration, and collective culture through narrative portraiture. I paint Black Americans with the dignity, complexity, and presence that history, fashion, and everyday objects preserve, revealing the lived experiences and cultural inheritance that connect generations.

My Practice
I create intimate portraits that explore the intersections of history, fashion, labor, and memory in Black American life. Through figure, clothing, and objects, I examine how identity, responsibility, and resilience are shaped by personal experience and collective history.

My background as a psychotherapist informs my approach to portraiture. I am interested in generational memory, migration, and the ways in which culture and lived experience are carried, preserved, and passed down. Each painting is a visual conversation with the past and present, honoring those who came before us while reflecting on the realities we continue to navigate today.
